What is Bespoke Software?

Bespoke software is a software application developed to meet specific customer requirements and is normally used when an "off-the-shelf" solution is not compatible with those requirements. Because the software is designed for your particular requirements, you can tailor it to fit in exactly with your business or other applications in your organisation.

MCS Computers have been developing Bespoke Software since 1971. Due to the historical nature of our business we have developed multiple applications in Micro Focus COBOL. We have moved from the initial version of COBOL to the latest version called NETEXPRESS. Our expertise also include using development tools such as Microsoft .NET, SQL and Crystal Reports allowing your solution to be easily integrated into other applications in your business.

Bespoke Software v "Off-the-shelf"

A custom application may be a better solution than standard "off-the-shelf" software application. Off the shelf software is designed for a wide range of businesses and may not be ideally suited for a specific business needs. It often forces you to work in ways that are not always natural or efficient to you.
